Oh hey there, I’m Rachel.
Some of my fondest childhood memories involve dirt—on my hands, under my nails, sometimes even in my hair. To this day, when I catch a glimpse of soil still clinging to my fingers, I can’t help but smile.
It’s been a good day in the garden.
Gardening is my meditation in motion. It’s where you can literally see the fruits of your labor. One tiny seed saved from last year’s harvest nestles into the warm soil and grows into a towering heirloom tomato vine—seven feet tall and dripping with juicy fruit, perfect for the best sauce you’ve ever tasted.
Or maybe it’s an amaranth seed—so small it nearly disappears in your palm—that grows into a tall, graceful stalk, crowned with cascading burgundy blooms. That’s Love-Lies-Bleeding, my favorite flower for fall arrangements.
For the past 10 years, I worked in healthcare. It kept me busy, but deep down I knew it wasn’t where I was meant to be. I needed to get back to my roots. Back to the garden.
So here we are.
These days my office is the garden where I have the honor of designing beautiful kitchen gardens—whether it’s in a family backyard, a chef’s restaurant, or a shared public space. I also get to coach and mentor new gardeners and watch their confidence (and veggies!) grow season after season. There’s truly nothing like harvesting food for your family, right from your own yard.
And then there are the blooms. I create floral scapes and arrangements for some of life’s most treasured days—weddings, celebrations, or just-because moments that call for something extra special.
Whether you’re dreaming of a kitchen garden, stunning event florals, or both—I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
